Project Overview
This was an interesting technical project for our team. Due to the nature of Anymail Finder’s business—scraping the internet for verified email addresses—their website was massive. Each scraped email address had its own webpage, and unknown to them, Google was crawling those pages.
To give you a sense of scale, we tried to crawl the website four times, and each attempt resulted in the computer crashing after 8 hours of crawling.
We knew immediately that if AnymailFinder.com wanted to drive traffic and increase sales they would need to decrease the size of their website and therefore the size of their crawl budget with Google. Not only was their crawl budget huge but AnymailFinder.com’s blog was on medium, a subdomain. It was driving traffic but to the wrong site, which ultimately started competing with the business site.
Knowing this, the team at Method + Metric honed in on two important technical SEO tasks: on-page de-indexing and importing the blog. Often, when people think of SEO, they focus solely on keywords, which are important, however, even before we began optimizing AnymailFinder.com’s content, these two fixes started driving significant increases in overall organic traffic numbers.
After de-indexing unnecessary pages and importing the blog our team got to work with on-page optimization and then CRO to increase conversions. Today, thousands of companies use Anymail Finder to find emails with a 97% guaranteed deliverability rate.
